Terms of Use

Last updated October 16, 2026. These terms are between you and Tech on Tires, LLC (“Polytopic Systems”, “we”), the maker of Quipu. By using Quipu you agree to them.

What Quipu is

Quipu is software that lets you view and trade your own Alpaca brokerage account. Quipu is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser or exchange. Brokerage services for US-listed securities are provided by Alpaca Securities LLC, member FINRA/SIPC, and crypto services by Alpaca Crypto LLC, under your separate agreements with Alpaca. Your account, your money and your orders are held and executed by Alpaca, not by us.

No investment advice

Nothing in Quipu is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. Charts, indicators, estimates and options analytics are tools, not advice. You make your own decisions, and investing involves risk, including the loss of everything you invest.

Your orders

Orders are placed at your direction. You are responsible for checking every order before you submit it, including the symbol, side, quantity or dollar amount, order type and price. Orders may be delayed, rejected, partly filled or filled at a different price than shown. Live orders ask for Face ID to help prevent mistakes; it is not a guarantee.

Market data

Prices and other data come from Alpaca and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. What you see depends on your Alpaca data plan (for example, a single exchange rather than the full consolidated market). Some figures in Quipu, such as buy/sell pressure, are estimates and are labeled as such. Paper trading uses simulated money and may not reflect real fills.

Availability

We may change, suspend or stop Quipu or any feature. Quipu depends on Alpaca, Apple and Cloudflare, and may not work when they don’t. Don’t rely on Quipu as your only way to reach your account; Alpaca’s own website and apps remain available to you.

Prices for Quipu

Quipu is free during its preview. If we introduce paid plans, they will be offered through the App Store, and these terms will say so before you are charged.

Acceptable use

Don’t misuse Quipu: no reverse engineering our server, interfering with it, or using Quipu to break the law or Alpaca’s terms.

No warranty

Quipu is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Alpaca does not warrant or guarantee that Quipu will work as advertised or expected.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for trading losses, missed opportunities, or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Quipu, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Quipu in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
