Privacy Policy

Quipu works on your iPhone and talks to Alpaca. We don’t track you, and we don’t sell anything about you.

Last updated October 16, 2026. This policy covers the Quipu app and this website, made by Tech on Tires, LLC (“Polytopic Systems”, “we”).

Your Alpaca account

Quipu connects to your Alpaca brokerage account with Alpaca’s OAuth sign-in. You sign in on Alpaca’s website; Quipu never sees your Alpaca password. When you authorize Quipu, Alpaca gives the app an access token that lets it read your account information, positions, orders and market data, and place orders at your direction.

The access token is stored only on your device, in the iOS Keychain. Your account data is fetched from Alpaca by the app and shown on your device; we don’t copy it to our servers. Alpaca’s own privacy policy and disclosures cover the data Alpaca holds as your broker.

You can disconnect Quipu at any time from the app’s Settings, and revoke its access from your Alpaca dashboard.

Our server

To finish signing in, the app sends Alpaca’s one-time authorization code to our server at quipu.polytopic.systems, which adds Quipu’s app credentials and exchanges the code with Alpaca for your access token. The token is passed straight back to your device. We don’t store the code or the token.

Our server runs on Cloudflare. To stop abuse, it counts sign-in attempts per hashed IP address for a minute at a time; the counts are never stored. We keep error logs without request details, and no access logs.

On your device

Your watchlists, settings and chart layouts are stored on your device. Face ID, which confirms live orders, is handled entirely by iOS; Quipu only learns whether it succeeded.

Quipu has no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking code.

This website

No cookies, no analytics, no third-party scripts or fonts.

Children

Quipu is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, tell you in the app.
